Automatic testing of large-sized optronic equipment

The French and German armed forces have chosen this type of test bench to ensure the support and maintenance of the optronic systems of their planes, helicopters and ground vehicles.

  • Sights for the French Army Leclerc tanks.

These platforms are equipped with multi-sensor optronic equipment with multi-axis stabilisation and pupil sizes of up to 400 mm.

Measurement and calibration

The general-purpose optronic test system offers a full range of measurements and calibration possibilities.

  • Field of view, Distortion
  • Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) in accordance with standard ISO 12233
  • RSFN, NETD, MRTD in accordance with standards STANAG 4349 and STANAG 4350
  • SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio), dynamic range, calibration and Non-Uniformity Correction (NUC)
  • Laser energy, pulse repetition frequency, laser beam profile, divergence
  • Precision and range of laser rangefinder (extinction test)
  • Amplitude, precision and drift of line of sight (LOS)
  • Measurement of harmonisation performance (parallax, line of sight)
  • Measurement of stabilisation performance (static mode)
  • Transmission,
  • Image intensifier gain

Deployable in overseas operations

The fully automated general-purpose optronic test system is used by military personnel assigned to equipment maintenance.
These rugged testers can be used equally well in workshops on the base as in overseas operations.

There are two transport and installation possibilities:

  • in crates with deployment under tents
