Since 2021, SPHEREA Test & Services has launched a number of initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint. Carbon emissions are considered a SIA (Significant Environmental Aspect) and are monitored as part of the company’s performance.

In 2024, we integrated this into our new CSR policy under our first pillar and highlighted it with a key commitment:
We are: “Pillar 1 | Responsible for our environmental footprint / Commitment 1 | Accelerate our decarbonization efforts.”

What areas have we taken action on since 2021?

Scope 1 and 2:

• Acceleration of our eco-design approach, deployed since 2016, through the systematic implementation of Life Cycle Analysis for our product offerings;
• Increased use of renewable energy sources;
• Transition of the company vehicle fleet to hybrid/electric models;
• Early shutdown of air conditioning during mid-season and raising awareness of eco-responsibility through simple and effective actions.

SPHEREA T&S aims to reduce its carbon footprint by 10% for Scope 1 and 2 emissions under the GHG Protocol by 2030.

Scope 3:

• Achieve “zero landfill waste” by implementing recycling and/or waste reduction initiatives;
• Raise awareness and engage our suppliers through our Environmental Quality and Safety Clauses;
• Promote sustainable mobility with the goal of implementing the Sustainable Mobility Package by 2025;
• Accelerate our eco-design approach, deployed since 2016, through the systematic implementation of Life Cycle Analysis for our product offerings;
• Extend the lifespan of our products and/or third-party products, taking into account the current component shortage.
